John G Hartness

John is an award-winning poet, lighting designer and theatre producer, whose work has been translated into over 25 languages and read worldwide. He’s been published in several online literary journals including The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, cc&d, Deuce Coupe and Truckin’. His poem “Dancing with Fireflies” was nominated for a 2010 Pushcart Prize. John is the author of the urban fantasy series The Black Knight Chronicles, which he began self-publishing in 2010. He has since sold the series to BellBridge Books, who will begin publishing it in 2012.

Mission

Our primary focuses are literacy and education. To that end, we have held an annual convention in Memphis, TN for over two decades hosting numerous authors, editors, scientists, and artists. We also hold a free seminar for educators and librarians, a writers' conference with workshops by award winning authors and editors, and annual student art and writing contests.

MidSouthCon is presented by Mid-South Science and Fictions Conventions Inc. a non-profit type 501(c)(3) Corporation. Donations are welcome (and are tax deductible).
